“Plantation Kratom” is Kratom that has been cultivated on a farm, this is becoming more and more common throughout Indonesia as the demand for Kratom grows. In the early 2000s most of the Kratom imported from Borneo was still wild-harvested, as it had been for hundreds of years. As the industry began to boom in the mid-2000s more and more rural Indonesian communities began to take interest in this new “cash crop”. For many, it was an exit from the poor working conditions of the Palm and Rubber harvesting industries that provide jobs to many Indonesian communities.
